Defining Innovation

March 28, 2018

This is the first blog in a series where we will be exploring the topic of innovation and its impact on digital curriculum.

If you look up the definition of innovation, you might be overwhelmed with inconsistencies in what you discover. If you ask Google for a definition, it produces over 300 million results with thousands of different definitions. Merriam Webster states that innovation is the introduction of something new, a new idea, method, or device: a novelty. And if you ask “innovation” experts, there are a multitude of very unique ways to characterize and describe innovation as you can see by their responses to that very question in this blog post from idea to innovation.

What Does Innovation Mean to Us?

Clearly there are countless ways to describe innovation, but at Apex Learning, we don’t believe innovation is a “novelty” or simply one new product or idea. To us, innovation is a 20-year commitment to supporting the changing environment in education and creating solutions that remain responsive and reflective to those evolving needs. Apex Learning has had a reputation for delivering results and exceptional service from the company’s earliest days. Our goal has always been to support district and educator needs and to deliver the best possible outcomes for students: increased achievement.

As pioneers in the field of digital curriculum, our commitment remains on adapting and evolving our solutions to support better learning opportunities for all students—from struggling to advanced.  We are committed to innovation that delivers:

  • What works for students
  • Insights for teachers
  • Results for administrators

We are driven by a passion to expand opportunities for students and improve educational outcomes. We are inspired every day by the stories of the students using our digital curriculum and the results our district partners achieve. With a foundation based on two decades of innovation and experience, we are very optimistic about our ability to continue to have an impact.
